Derek had assumed that people would have missed him, but he isn't really prepared for the way Bianca throws herself at him. Yes, he's a werewolf, but he's weak and exhausted so while he catches her without issue, it does make him stumble backwards a bit. He falls back onto his bed and wraps his arms around her tightly.

She smells like emotion, like relief and fear and so much more, and Derek just holds onto her. He remembers seeing her in that other place, or at least some version of her. He remembers seeing her bleeding out, and he just holds onto her that much tighter.

"Missed me, huh?" Derek asks, trying to keep his voice light, but it wavers with emotion of his own. "It's good to see you."
